Bunker Quantity and Quality Surveys solely for receiving parties
Bunker Quantity Surveys (BQS) are carried out only for receiving parties (Owners, Charterers, Brokers, etc.) to measure and ascertain the quantity of Bunker on board at the specific time. This survey is produced the report that states the amount of bunker, usually Fuel Oil (FO) and Diesel Oil (DO). In surveying the stemmed bunkers we can assure the bunker purchaser the amount of bunkers purchased is also delivered and noted correctly on the BDN.
Representative quality samples can be drawn for analysis and or retention.
Bunker Detective Surveys (221B)
221B surveys are carried out by experienced marine surveyors on behalf of ship operators, to find concealed (hidden) bunker fuel on board. To find concealed fuel someone qualified has to go on board the vessel and essentially looking for magic pipes, unauthorized connections; tampered gauging equipment, doctored fuel gauges etc. In order to prevent fuel losses our experienced surveyors offer impartial, independent quantity measurement inspection services for marine fuels, issuing detailed bunker survey reports to ascertain the exact fuel quantity on board at the time of survey and to report any bunker fuel shortages.
On – Off hire ROB bunker Surveys
ROB Bunker Surveys will be carried out to measure and ascertain the quantity of bunkers on board at the specific time. All heavy Fuel Oil (FO), Marine Diesel/Gas Oil (DO), and sometimes Lubricating Oil (LO) is included. Measurements and volumes will be calculated by calibrated vessel sounding tables corrected for list, trim, temperature, density and consumption of Fuel Oil & Marine Diesel Oil to vessel delivery at Pilot station (DLOSP).
On – Off hire Condition Surveys
Condition Surveys determine the extent of damage, other than fair wear and tear.
The condition survey will include elements such as inspection of loading gear, vessel hull, main deck, cargo holds and hatches we identify any damage present prior to the vessel going on/off hire and after completion the visual inspections we issue an attestation certificate.
A condition survey is often conducted in combination with a ROB bunker Survey.
Draft surveys for Inland barges & Sea going vessels
Draft survey is performed by reading the ship’s draft on the draft markings at six standard points on the hull: forward, mid-ships and after on both port and starboard side. Corrections for factors such as trim, water density and non-cargo weight, all draft marks will be read by the surveyor in presence of the chief officer of the inbounded vessel before and after cargo operations with a service boat if necessary. Issuing vessel hydrostatic tables all facts will be calculated and reported completely dedicated, to protect all interests of our clients. The procedure is standardized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe for the measurement of dry cargoes carried by coasters and or dry bulk carriers.
